Mazkur maqolada xitoy tilidagi asosiy ko‘rsatish olmoshlari — 这 (zhè) va (nà) — ning nafaqat grammatika darajasida, balki diskurs (nutq) darajasidagi funksiyalari o‘rganiladi. Bu olmoshlarning ishoraviy (deiktik) va qayta ishoraviy (referensial) funksiyalari tahlil qilinadi. Shuningdek, ular orqali nutqdagi mavzularni qanday bog‘lash, gapdosh e’tiborini qanday boshqarish, yangi mavzularni qanday ochish mumkinligi ko‘rib chiqiladi.
