USING SONGS AND STORIES TO MOTIVATE YOUNG LEARNERS IN EFL CLASSROOMS

Abstract

This article explores the effectiveness of using songs and stories as motivational tools in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to young learners. It emphasizes how these creative and engaging methods can enhance language acquisition, listening skills, pronunciation, and vocabulary development. Songs and stories provide meaningful contexts, emotional engagement, and repetitive patterns that support better memory retention and comprehension. By integrating these authentic materials, teachers can create a positive and enjoyable learning atmosphere that fosters intrinsic motivation and active participation among students.
