Abstract

This thesis discusses the role of basic linguistics in English language learning. It focuses on morphology, phonetics, and phonology. These areas can help students improve their vocabulary and pronunciation. The study focuses on A2-level students who are moving toward B1. Students can learn new words by understanding prefixes and suffixes. They can also improve their pronunciation by learning about silent letters, different sounds of -s, and assimilation. Simple explanations and practical activities can make these linguistic topics easier for English learners.
