Abstract

The article examines psychohistory in the Foundation series as a literary principle shaping plot development and compositional structure. Particular attention is given to the recurrent model of crisis, temporal ellipses, changes of central protagonists, and disruptions of established narrative patterns. The analysis shows how individual choice functions within a historically conditioned plot structure and how the tension between necessity and freedom is embodied through narrative organization rather than presented only as an abstract philosophical problem.
