Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive linguistic investigation into the semantic characteristics, conceptual structures, semantic fields, and lexical-semantic relations (such as synonymy, polysemy, and hyponymy) of ecological terms in English and Uzbek. Driven by global environmental challenges and rapid technological advancements, the lexicon of ecology has expanded exponentially, acquiring complex semantic layers. Utilizing componential analysis, semantic field mapping, and comparative methods, this paper explores the semantic transformations, conceptual shifts, and terminological standardization issues that arise when rendering English ecological terms into Uzbek. The study highlights the necessity of achieving deep semantic equivalence rather than superficial structural alignment.
