Abstract

This article offers a poetic analysis of the image of the New Woman constructed in Jane Austen’s works. It explores Austen’s artistic skill in portraying female characters, focusing on their intellectual capacities, moral autonomy, and inner freedom. It also considers how dialogue, irony, psychological characterization, and elements of realism serve to reveal female character. The findings show that the representation of women in Austen’s writing has not only social significance but also aesthetic and poetic value.
